Willie and Adriele needed to find a sofa for their new tiny apartment. They decided that since it needed to be used in such a small area, a sectional would be the best solution to utilize as much space as possible for seating...
Here is the floor plan that shows how a small sectional would fit ever so nicely. You can spot our orange/fireglow desk on the wall in the dining room.
Barbara and Larry (Will's mom and dad) kindly offered us their sectional because they were thinking about redoing their living room soon. It would have worked out great, but the sectional was TOO BIG for the apartment.
Here are some nice ones that I would also love but they were way TOO EXPENSIVE! Maybe one day but we're not there yet.
I then turned to the best priced modern furniture store I could think of...good old Ikea usually saves the day but the Kivik was a bit TOO SMALL and did not pass Will's comfort test.
Not to worry though! In the end our searching and efforts were not in vain.
We found this guy (the sectional not Will) at Jennifer Convertibles for a grand total of $799 cha-ching. But before we said yes we went and checked out Roomstore and Marlo in hopes of finding another great deal, but nothing passed my tastes and Will's comfort needs. In the end we went back to Jennifer's and bought this one. I wasn't thrilled about the dark brown color only because I was envisioning something lighter like linen or grey, but it has already grown on me. However, for $799 we think we know what got skimped on and that would be the padding. Fortunately to Will's relief I suggested that we just add some more padding to the cushions. We opened them up and it looked manageable so that will be a future mini project making this sectional JUST RIGHT.
